Road Closures for 2020 Presidential Debate

Location: Euclid Ave. & Chester Ave. between E. 105th & E. 89th

Alert in effect: Friday, September 25 - Thursday, October 1, 2020

In preparation for the upcoming Presidential Debate taking place at the Samson Pavilion (9501 Euclid Ave) next Tuesday, September 29th, there are a number of major University Circle road closures in the area.

  • Chester Ave. between E. 89th Street and E. 101st Street will be closed starting at 9am on Friday, 9/25.
  • Euclid Ave. between E. 89th Street and E. 105th Street will be closed starting at 6pm on Friday, 9/25.
  • A number of smaller nearby streets also have closures in effect, and some streets will only be open to Cleveland Clinic patient traffic.
  • All road closures will remain in effect through Wednesday, 9/30 and possibly later.

See the map below for more detail on the closures. Both Chester Ave. and Euclid Ave. will remain open to pedestrian traffic. Carnegie Ave. is the vehicular detour for both eastbound and westbound traffic.

RTA’s Healthline will be rerouted onto Carnegie Ave. between E. 105th and E. 83rd Streets while Euclid is closed. Other impacted RTA bus routes include route numbers: 7, 32, 9, 48 & 48A. Visit RTA's Presidential Debate Reroutes page for more info.
