Total on the Oval - Road Closure & Transportation Information

Road Closure Information
Next Monday, April 8th, a temporary road closure will be in place for Total on the Oval, University Circle's total solar eclipse community watch party. Between approximately 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wade Oval Drive will be temporarily closed between the Cleveland Museum of Natural History's parking garage entrance and Jeptha Drive.

Prepare Your Travel
To prepare for travel conditions during the eclipse, we recommend planning your travel in advance and giving yourself plenty of extra time for possible delays. If driving, remember to turn your headlights on and put your sun visor down to block your view of the sun. DO NOT wear eclipse glasses or try to photograph or video the eclipse while driving.

Getting to Total on the Oval

BIKING
Free bike valet will be provided by Ohio City Bicycle Co-op on Wade Oval, across from the Cleveland Museum of Art. Leave the car at home and rest assured that your bike will be watched for free while you enjoy the festivities. Interested in volunteering for the bike valet? Sign up here!

TRANSIT
RTA operates six (6) bus routes, plus the Euclid Avenue Health Line (bus rapid transit) and the Red Line (heavy rail) routes to and through the district. Use the Transit app for real-time bus and train info and to purchase your ticket.

The BlueLink and GreenLink are FREE shuttle routes that can be used to access Wade Oval from RTA transit stops, and adjacent neighborhoods like Little Italy and Coventry. Visit our Shuttle Page for more information on routes and the Live Shuttle Tracker for shuttle locations in real-time.

PARKING
Parking will be available in the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, The Cleveland Museum of Art, and Cleveland Botanical Garden garages for a $30 flat rate. Additional visitor parking options can be found on uGO's interactive parking map.

Accessible parking will be available on the top deck of The Cleveland Museum of Art garage and on Wade Oval Drive in front of the museum on a first-come first-served basis.
